Wand is the most popular and low cost bar code input device. The metal case and replaceable sapphire tip make it very rugged and durable. Champ has a varity of wand models. The low power (4mA) and high resolution (0.10mm or 4mil) models meed the highest industry standard.
Metal Wand Reader w/decoder (WD100/DC205) comes with metal body and a matches box size decoder to connect PC. Both keyboard and RS232 interfaces are available at choice.
A Trigger on/off sturdy plastic Wand Reader (Power Wand) is available in the second half of 1999. Its ergonomic design gives comfortable gripping in operation. The decoder built in model is available. This is a perfect reader to use with portable data collector and notebook PC.
CCD scanner is considered a rugged, fast response and relatively inexpensive bar code scanner. Champ has economical model which reads bar code from contact to 2" scanning distance. The Long Range model is capable of reading bar code up to 6" scanning distance. Both models have a wide scanning angle. Multiple interfaces are available: TTL, Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and Wand Emulation.
